In the spirit of the Nerd ABCs, I would like to present the ABCs of programming languages:
| A is for ALGOL (or Ada or APL) | N is for the .NET intermediate language |
| B is for Brainf**k | O is for Objective-C |
| C is for C (or C++ or C#) | P is for Perl (or Python or PL/I or PHP or PostScript or Pascal) |
| D is for Dylan | Q is for QuickBasic |
| E is for Erlang | R is for Ruby |
| F is for Fortran | S is for Smalltalk (or Scheme or Simula) |
| G is for Gödel | T is for TCL |
| H is for Haskell | U is for Ubercode |
| I is for IDL | V is for Verilog |
| J is for Java | W is for the Whitespace programming language |
| K is for the Korn shell | X is for the XL programming language |
| L is for LISP | Y is for YACC |
| M is for ML | Z is for Zeno |
There are far too many programming languages which start with A, P, and S and not enough which start with G, K, N, U, W, X, Y, or Z.
